Podcast Episode 10

Lost in the Sierra Nevada with Andrew Welch

Guest

Andrew Welch

Duration

53 min

Andrew Welch taught himself Pascal at 15 to sell shareware typefaces online, back when banks were terrified of internet payments. He named his company Mark Three Software, until General Electric's lawyers sent a threatening letter. He changed the name to Ambrosia, ran it for two decades building Mac games and utilities, and then wound it all down because managing people had replaced building things.

In this episode, he talks about the pivot to web development and Craft CMS, why he deliberately works alone, and how SEOmatic became one of the most popular plugins in the Craft ecosystem.
